"not p...Hi Chris, thanks for the feedback.

"not pepper them with a very long shopping list".

Sorry, but 8 post-2015 SDGs or even 20 is not going to do it. It is not a "shopping list" but a comprehensive agenda of SDGs that we need, and if management is a problem then we need to tackle the management problem.

We need an SDG Comprehensive Framework (SDG-CF).

UN SDGs 900 2015-2030

The SDG 900 proposal suggests 14 Goals, each comprising on average 8 Objectives, each comprising on average 8 Targets for a total of 900 Targets.

Each Goal would have 1 priority main flagship Target (for a total of 14 flagship Targets) which would be highly publicised to make the UN SDG program more comprehensible to the general public.

The proposal for the 14 Goals is as follows:

1. Arms reduction and military contraction (including improved mechanisms for conflict resolution)
2. Biodiversity and habitat (including oceans and rivers)
3. Capacity building (including institutional capacity, technology transfer, new progress indicators, governance)
4. Civil society empowerment and participation (including
cultural development)
5. Education and telecommunications / internet
6. Food security (including hunger elimination, nutrition,
sustainable agriculture, organic farming, land reform)
7. Global warming stabilisation and renewable energy
8. Green economy (sustainable production and consumption,
product lifecycle, economic development and resilience)
9. Health (including disease control, reproductive health, public health systems, preventative medicine)
10. Population stabilisation (including ZPG, environmental
refugees)
11. Poverty reduction (including access to basic services)
12. Social justice (including human rights, cultural survival12, equity, gender equity, democracy, transparency,
accountability, anti-corruption, social security, job security)
13. Sustainable cities and pollution (including sustainable
transport, carbon neutral buildings, air quality, toxic waste,
zero waste)
14. Water

Goal 2. would include the 20 Aichi Targets even though their deadline is 2020.

How to fund?

1. 30% reduction in all national military expenditures (based on 2010 exp.) USD$500b/an
2. ODA 0.7% GNI of OECD countries and 0.35% GDP BRIC and emerging economies USD$100b/an
3. Tobin Tax on international financial transactions USD$100b/an
4. Diversion of fossil fuel subsidies (based on 2010 subsidy levels) USD$300b/an
5. Closing of Tax Havens globally USD$ 40b/an

Total USD$1040b/an

Kind Regards,
Geoff Holland
research@globalfuturesresearch.org
Geoff Hollandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15199688278574000274noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4577251188417774920.post-83312273621309013552012-11-09T05:37:39.579-08:002012-11-09T05:37:39.579-08:00Thanks Chris for this really interesting post.
How...Thanks Chris for this really interesting post.
How can we ensure that the post-2015 framework doesn't miss people like the Sierra Leonean man who spoke out as a former child soldier? One answer is to include human rights in the post-2015 framework.
